Since 2009, Mother and Children Art Foundation (MCAF) has partnered with Lhasso Adventure and World Challenge to host teams from across the globe for community development projects in Nepal. With over 9 years of experience, MCAF provides life-changing volunteering opportunities that focus on creating educational programs and improving living conditions in Nepalese communities.
We offer 24-hour operational support to teams, ensuring high standards and smooth execution of all projects. Volunteering with MCAF allows individuals to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need, while also experiencing the awe-inspiring beauty of trekking in the world’s tallest peaks.

Another successful volunteering project was concluded at Devi Balsudhar School in the community of Gokarna Suntakhan. From July 26th to 28th, the project team from Barr Beacon School in the UK worked to foster a better environment at the school, while engaging in cultural exchanges and activities with the local community.
Upon arrival, the team received a warm welcome from the school community, and the principal delivered an inspiring welcome speech. In a traditional gesture of hospitality, the team was presented with colorful scarves known as Khada, along with flowers and red Tika on their foreheads. The students also performed a vibrant Nepali dance, adding to the festive atmosphere. Following the ceremony, the team was given a short tour around the project area to familiarize themselves with the surroundings and the tasks ahead.

The team met with the headmaster of the school to discuss the plans for the project. After a productive discussion, they agreed on several key tasks, including the purchase of metal columns for the roof and stairs, as well as painting and decorating the classrooms with colorful drawings.

In addition to the project work, the team had the opportunity to interact with the students and the local community. They participated in a cookery class to discover authentic Nepali cuisine, taught English lessons, and spent time playing with the children, further fostering cultural exchange and building meaningful connections.

On the final day, a heartfelt farewell ceremony was organized, during which the team performed a song they had prepared. The ceremony included the presentation of scarves, red Tika, and appreciation letters as tokens of gratitude. The headmaster also delivered a speech expressing appreciation for the team’s efforts. Thanks to the team's hard work, the community will now benefit from a significantly improved school environment. For the team, this experience will remain a cherished memory — a fulfilling journey that satisfies every aspect of their volunteering aspirations.
