Child Sponsorship &Aid

Since its establishment, MCAF has been giving training in traditional art ( Thangka Painting), especially to those women who are suffering from economic and social problems and are unemployed.

We create means for women to generate an income that will relieve them from their problems and raise their living standards.

We have our central Art Studio Center and Gallery in Kathmandu and many other training centers in different parts of the country.

Overview

Nepal is renowned for its majestic mountain ranges, including 10 of the world’s 14 highest peaks. It is home to Mount Everest (the highest point on Earth) and Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Nepal is also known for its warm and hospitable people.

Despite its abundant natural resources, vast tourism potential, and hardworking population, Nepal remains one of the least developed and poorest nations in the world. The per capita income of Nepali citizens is only US $240, and over 35% of the population is illiterate. A 12-year-long conflict further exacerbated hardships, particularly for families in remote areas. Many children are unable to attend school due to their families’ financial struggles. Children as young as 7 or 8 years old often work in fields to support their parents or serve as child laborers in homes, factories, and restaurants. The country also has a significant number of orphans and street children, but government resources for their education are insufficient.

Recognizing this urgent need, the “Mother and Children Art Foundation” (MCAF) established Shram Jyoti Public School in a suburb of Kathmandu, along with several partnership schools across Nepal. These institutions provide education to ethnic minorities, child laborers, orphans, street children, children with disabilities, and those living in poverty. To ensure more children have access to education, we have initiated a child sponsorship program. Your generous sponsorship can create life-changing opportunities for children in need.

Let us go forward in this battle fortified by conviction that those who labour in the service of a great and good cause will never fail.
