Mother and Children Art Foundation collaborated with Lhasso Adventure to deliver a volunteering project in all of Nepal, focusing on experienced and professional work. Volunteering in Nepal can be the perfect combination between helping those in need and enjoying the wonderful trekking landscape. On the 28th of July, the team project Haydon School started their volunteering project in Sukraraj Balabhadra Secondary School, Pokhara. They lived for 3 days with the local community, learning and interacting with Nepali culture while helping in the school. At their arrival, the team received a warm welcome from the school principal, SMC chairperson, Parents, Teachers Association’s members, and students. The community offered them white scarves called Khada, bunch of flowers and red tika on their forehead.

The Challengers team contributed to the project by painting the school building, bringing new life and color to the learning environment.

The Challengers team is actively preparing the construction materials, ensuring everything is ready for the upcoming tasks.

During their stay, the team had the opportunity to immerse themselves in local activities, as several group members expressed a keen interest in participating in a cookery class and teaching. As a result, the team was divided into three groups, each engaging in these enriching experiences over the course of two days. In addition to these activities, they also enjoyed playing games and interacting with local children, further strengthening their connection with the community.

As a heartfelt farewell, the school committee organized a memorable closing ceremony. During the event, students performed traditional cultural dances, sang songs, and delivered speeches and appreciation letters to the team. This touching ceremony marked a meaningful end to the volunteers’ time in the community. The experience will undoubtedly remain a cherished memory for the volunteers and the local community alike. Thanks to their efforts, the students now enjoy a safer and more vibrant school environment, leaving a lasting impact for years to come.
